The new Iron Creek winter horse backriding trail is now open for use as of late in the day on December 23, 2019. This new trail is for local horseback riders to access West Bragg Creek (WBC) Kananaskis Country trails from the TransCanada Trail in Rocky View County on RR54. Horseback riders that are trailering their horses should continue to use the WBC equestrian parking lot and not park in Elk Valley.
GBCTA would like to say a big thank you to Alberta Environment and Parks and the many folks who contributed to this successful new trail including: Jeff Hughes, Alf Skrastins, Brad Small, Bill Hoyne, Pete Irwin, Jason Edworthy, Neil and Robert MacLaine, Katie Lind and Karen Oldershaw.
