This letter is intended for all Members, Volunteers, Workers and Contractors of BCT.

Recognizing BCT’s obligations under Alberta’s OH&S regulations to protect our workers, our potential exposure to litigation, and given the current State of Emergency declared by the Province on September 16, 2021, the Board of Directors voted on September 21 to adopt the conditions outlined in the following motion.

“BCT Operations be limited to fully vaccinated employees, contractors, and volunteers and that all BCT workers will be expected to supply proof of full vaccination (2nd vaccination at least 14 days before workday) to join any trail maintenance or trail hosting activities until further notice.”

This direction follows current Alberta Health Guidelines and shows respect for the individuals currently experiencing this crisis in Alberta hospitals and in the community. As always, BCT makes worker safety a priority over all else and we are committed to our responsibility of stopping the chain of transmission of this virus.

This direction is temporary and BCT will continue to follow the lead of Alberta Health Services with regards to lifting of restrictions. Please stay safe out there and we look forward to the future when these worries are behind us.

Sincerely,
Conrad Schiebel
On behalf of the BCT Board of Directors
