Further work last week completed the clearing of all of the single track trails accessible from the Fullerton Trailhead on Highway #66.

The clearing of trees on single track trails has been a logistical challenge. Snowfalls and Chinook wind events during December complicated the access and clearing efforts by adding snow drifts into the mess of downed trees. Many of the trails are too narrow for access by larger vehicles, like quads and the soft snow and snow drifts would bog down eBikes or motorcycles.

So far, over 1,900 downed trees have been removed from the trails.  There are still trail segments that have not been cleared, including: north Long Distance, Kestrel, west Snakes & Ladders, a bit of Bobcat, Iron Horse, Iron Vista and the south half of Boundary Ridge.

Thanks to the amazing team who that has put in so many hours to get these single track trails open: Brad Small, Con Schiebel, Pete Irwin, David Owen, Willie Prebushewski, Neil MacLaine, Michele White, Greg Potter, Ed Reynolds, Graham Boag, Gord Gilbertson, Gary Blechinger, Mike Griffin, Jason Godkin, Tim Hudema and Dave Nichols.
