There is no new snow in the forecast and last weeks snowfall has settled to less that 20cm in open areas and less under trees. All XC ski trails have been roller packed to create a smooth base, but the packed snow depth is too shallow for track-setting. Early season hazards like grass, brush or thinly covered rocks exist and more of these are likely to get exposed as the snow compacts, melts or gets scraped off by skier traffic. The most popular fat bike trails have been machine packed and this will be extended to other trails over the coming week. User traffic is compacting the snow on trails closer to the parking lots, but soft snow can still be found on more distant trails.
