Bragg Creek Trails are a special blend of natural wonder, adventure, and stewardship. These trails are nestled within a Provincial Recreation Area and a Public Land Use Zone, making it vital to be aware of our responsibilities and opportunities as users by following the newly published Alberta Public Land Trail Guide.

STEWARDING THE LAND FOR ALBERTA PARKS

We take great pride in being stewards of this land on behalf of Alberta Forestry and Parks. This means that we are committed to preserving its natural beauty, protecting its flora and fauna, watercourses, water bodies, and key wildlife habitat while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. To achieve this, we attain approval for all signage in designated areas, and strictly adhere to all regulations enforced by Alberta Forestry and Parks.

RESPECT AND COMPLIANCE MATTER

When you explore Bragg Creek Trails, please keep the following in mind:

Follow Posted Signs:

Pay close attention to trailhead signage. They are there to guide you, keep trail users safe, create positive experiences and protect the environment. Within Alberta, each PLUZ has conditions and regulations specific to that land base. Visitors are expected to know and abide by the regulations for the area they are visiting.

Stay on Designated Trails for Your User Type:

Stick to established trails to avoid disturbing sensitive ecosystems and protect all trail users. Regulations are in place for all recreational activities within a Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ) to ensure sustainable long-term use of the land. Alberta’s public land offers many unique opportunities for recreation, including trails that can be explored on foot, horseback, skis, bike and more. Trail designations may allow a single type of use or multiple uses. Respecting trail designations and the regulations of the area shows gratitude to the many volunteer hours donated, while ensuring the safety of users enjoying the trail.

Pack It In, Pack It Out:

Be responsible for your waste. Leave no trace behind and dispose of garbage properly.

Respect Wildlife: Keep a safe distance from wildlife, and never feed them. Observing from afar ensures their safety and yours.

Recreation Responsibility: Practice responsible trail use by yielding to others, maintaining control of your pets, following designated trail signage for your user type and being mindful of noise levels.

Bragg Creek Trails offer a unique opportunity to connect with nature and find solace in its beauty. Let’s all do our part to protect and cherish this natural wonderland, maintain the integrity of these trails and ensure their availability for generations to come.
