February arrived at West Bragg Creek with a very light dusting of snow, but not enough to make any difference to trail conditions. The only real snowfall of the winter was back in November, followed by over two months of melt-freeze cycles.

The single track trails have a dusting of snow over hard packed snow and ice in shaded areas, or dirt on the ridges and sun exposed slopes. Studded tires and traction devices are recommended.  Conditions are good for hiking, trail running and biking, but poor for snowshoeing.

Volunteers have put in hundreds of hours of snow harvesting to try to maintain a snow base on the core Crystal Line, Sundog and Loggers XC ski trails. That base is consistent, but thin and hard packed.  The longer, more sun exposed trails have bare ground and very icy sections and are marginal to poor for XC skiing.

The weather is forecast to be extremely cold for the next week, with minimal new snow, so expect trail conditions to remain as they are.
