Our Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign has officially wrapped and thanks to YOU, our trail community, the impact is extraordinary.
We are beyond excited and grateful to share our full Giving Tuesday Campaign total is $83,519.05 🎉
This total includes the generous $14,000 match from our Trailblazing Donor, Cavvy Energy Ltd., and $14,000 from the Rocky Mountain Charitable Giving Fund.
Thank you to every donor, volunteer, partner and supporter. Your generosity keeps the WBC trail network thriving and ensures it remains a place where our community can gather, explore, breathe and feel connected.
We are humbled. We are grateful. And we are inspired for the work ahead.
From all of us at BCT — thank you for loving these trails as much as we do 💚
Welcome Cavvy Energy (formerly Pieridae Energy)
You may have noticed Cavvy Energy around West Bragg Creek and wondered what’s changed. Pieridae Energy changed their name and logo in May of this year. It is still the same people, continuing the long-standing operations that have existed alongside recreation in this shared landscape.
The company rebranded to better reflect its work here in Southern Alberta. Cavvy Energy draws its inspiration from the western ranching tradition. A “Cavvy” refers to a carefully selected group of working horses – each chosen for their strength, reliability, and specific capabilities.
Gentle reminder, WBC sits within a Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ) and is part of a multi-use area in Kananaskis Country. This means the land supports a variety of activities, including recreation, forestry, grazing and resource development. Trails, wildlife and industrial operations coexist within a shared use framework guided by the Government of Alberta.
We share the landscape with several partners and operators, each contributing to responsible use and management of the area.
