End of Season April 8th – Done for this Year. See you again next year!

It’s a sad day, but the “official” ski season is now over with the termination of grooming operations in West Bragg Creek.

I think most will agree this has been a most exceptional year – huge thanks go to the ski grooming team (Lead groomer Jeff, David, Bill, Dan, Erik, Greg, Alf, Brad, Dean, Dwayne and Carber) and also the fat bike trail grooming operation under the leadership of AJ.

But – no rest for the wicked – there is a great deal of routine maintenance that needs to be done to our equipment. We will then transition into summer work which includes activities such as brushing, mowing, seeding, bridge and culvert work to name a few.

Snow is falling as this is typed, so there should be enough snow to ski on for quite some time. Please keep in mind that the trails will not be maintained for skiing until next November. Please ski with caution as there will be hazards including ice, water, heavy snow, and ultimately thin snow.

Thanks to all of you who donated to the grooming operation – this would be impossible without you. The 50/50 campaign netted nearly $22,000. Please continue to think about us and support us financially over the summer, as the expenses for such things as major equipment maintenance and preparing for the next season doesn’t stop.

Thanks also to Alberta Parks for the new parking area and maintenance compound and shop – the West Bragg Creek area has truly become a “Mecca” for world class outdoor recreation, for all seasons.

Fundraising Decals

To support our general fundraising activities, we have come up with a series of decals to recognise people’s donations – the colour of the decal reflects the amount of the donation, as follows:
Bronze: $20-29
Silver: $30-49
Gold: $50+
The decals are available by donation in the following ways:

  • Online through our usual donation link (here)
  • In Bragg Creek, at Yoga Within the Heart (opposite the main shopping area) – cash only please.
  • From the Trail Hosts (in the West Bragg Creek parking lot)

For those donating online, present your donation receipt to either a Trail Host or at The Heart to receive your decal.
For cash donations (over $20), tax receipts will be issued for those requesting one. Online donations automatically receive a tax receipt.
