We are deeply saddened to share the passing of one of our treasured Board members, Jamie Mackie, who succumbed to his advancing Parkinson’s Disease on December 2. Jamie was a valued member of the Board for the past three years and also led the exciting new Trail Centre Project, currently in the planning stages. While this work will continue in his absence, his financial support for the project will significantly contribute to his lasting legacy of generosity, leadership, and love for the trails.
Jamie was a lifelong user of the West Bragg Creek trails, and this project resonated deeply with both him and BCT’s vision of providing accessible amenities for all Albertans at the West Bragg Trailhead. For those of us fortunate enough to have shared his orbit, Jamie requested that any memorial donations be directed to the BCT Trail Centre Project or to the Hotchkiss Brain Institute, University of Calgary.
