BCT volunteers and AEP staff have over the last 3 weeks been engaged in an epic task to clear trails of windfall after the massive Dec 1 storm. Ski trails are now clear with grooming actively occurring. The All Season trails have been a much more complex undertaking with several hundred trees still to be cleared – many of which require the advanced felling skills of AEP staff. Volunteers have assisted with chainsawing of less dangerous trees and extensive hand sawing with large Japanese ‘Silky’ pull saws.

Many trails have been opened but some still remain closed due to hazardous and/or completely obstructed sections. Please check the AST Conditions page  for specific trail information. For a map showing all the trails that have been cleared and those still remaining , click here.
