West Bragg Creek is a day use area in Kananaskis Country, a 45 min drive southwest of Calgary, Alberta and ~10 km west of the charming hamlet of Bragg Creek. Here BCT builds and maintains some 166 km of multi-use trails in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The terrain is mostly gentle and rolling and the forest is a mix of aspen and evergreens which has been logged in places, opening up many lovely vistas. Creeks, springs and wetlands add variety to the landscape.

There is a small Trails Centre, plenty of parking and washrooms.

West Bragg is very popular with Calgarians. Plan to arrive early on weekends to get a parking space and please adhere to speed limits as the WBC road winds through residential areas. The network caters to skiers, mountain/fat bikers, snowshoers, walkers, trail runners and equestrians. This place gets busy!

Directions to the West Bragg Creek Trailhead

Travel west on Balsam Ave, past the mall with Family Foods, the Old West Mall and over the Elbow River bridge. Turn left or west at the T intersection onto Centre Ave. This section of road is 40km/hr for kids, pets and wildlife. Please slow down! Continue for 9.3 km to the West Bragg Creek Trail Recreation Area parking lot located at the end of the road.

FOR ALL, OUTSIDE, EVERY SEASON

We believe outside is home. We are proud to be active stewards in this place where community comes together to explore, connect with nature, and recreate through biking, hiking, skiing, or anything in between.
By community, for community – to enjoy outside every season.
